Welcome to Fremont County School District #1’s website.  As the interim superintendent for the 2010-2011 school year, I am excited about the changes that will come about this year.  We are expecting our district wide NCA Accreditation visit in October and the teams in each building have been hard at work in preparation.  Much of our fall will be devoted to finishing that process.  Thanks to all who have contributed to the process thus far.

If you haven’t yet driven past the new Lander Middle School construction site, it is progressing rapidly.  We all look forward to the coming completion of that facility in for the 2011-2012 school year.  Substantial completion is expected by July 4, 2011. 

Finally, we will be busy reconfiguring elementary students into grade level campuses.  We are moving forward with the construction proposals  for the new elementary school on the site of the current South Elementary School which should  be completed by December, 2012.

As we move forward as a district, I would encourage all of you to continue to make decisions based on improving teaching and learning.  Our students deserve only the best!
